Challenging Every Assumption, Every Charge, Every Time.

Cameron Cox is an experienced trial attorney with nearly 20 years of hard-hitting jury trial experience. A skilled litigator, he focuses his practice on defending clients facing serious criminal charges, including homicide, violent crimes, white collar crimes such as fraud and embezzlement, and all sex crimes. He’s been chosen by his peers to lead a number of non-profit organizations, including being elected chair of the Texas Young Lawyers Association a decade ago overseeing 20,000 plus lawyers. Licensed in Texas and Utah, Cameron earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law (class of 2005) and graduating with honors in economics at Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business (class of 2001).

If you're charged with homicide, attempted murder, aggravated assault, battery, domestic violence, weapons offenses, or other violent crimes, you need immediate legal representation. We thoroughly investigate every aspect of your case to build the strongest possible defense.

Facing investigation or charges for fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, tax evasion, money laundering, or other financially motivated crimes requires sophisticated legal defense. We navigate complex financial evidence and work to protect your reputation and freedom.

Allegations of sexual assault of a child, rape, statutory rape, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, solicitation, possession of illegal materials, child pornography, or other sex-related offenses carry life-altering consequences. We provide vigorous defense while handling your case with discretion and sensitivity.
Please contact our office if you cannot find an answer to your question.
(1) Do not talk to the police. Request a lawyer be present for any and all questions. Answer all questions with “I invoke my right to an attorney. I will speak once my attorney is present.”
(2) All jail calls are recorded and they do listen to them. Never talk about your case on the phone from jail.
(3) Never contact the victim, the victim’s family, or friends. If they contact you, send it to voicemail or do not respond to messages. Save the messages and voicemails, but do not respond. If you contact them or respond, you most likely will be charged with additional crimes.
(4) Trust your attorney. All communications and calls with your attorney are privileged and cannot be disclosed or used by the police. If you believe you are under investigation, but have not been arrested, it is wise to set up a retainer and hire an attorney who can then help you immediately should you be arrested. This will speed your ability to defend your case and get you released from jail.
You can call your attorney and they can arrange for your bail, if you’ve provided them with a retainer ahead of time. Family or friends can also contact a bail bond company on your behalf. If you have already been denied bail by a judge, then obtaining bail will be difficult. This is why you need an attorney on your side before requesting bail. In Utah, you only get one shot at bail, unless there is a material change in circumstances on your case. Make sure you have legal representation before you request bail. Like a marine sniper- you get one shot, and one try.
Every case is unique. Some cases resolve quickly; others take a lot longer. A good lawyer will provide you with the roadmap for success from the first meeting. They will look at and question the evidence, meet with witnesses, hire experts, and develop your own custom roadmap to win your case. Each client’s strategy and destinations are distinctive and different. Mr. Cox’s experience will give you the best route to win your case. His philosophy is “to prepare for trial- not plea agreements.” Good plea agreements only come from a position of strength and that strength is only earned through preparing for trial starting the day Mr. Cox is hired.
This depends on your case, the charges, the type of evidence, the number of experts needed, and your expectations. Mr. Cox cannot promise outcomes, but he will provide you with a very accurate estimate of the entire cost of your case in your very first meeting. Mr. Cox is not like some attorneys who take a retainer and then bail on you before trial. Mr. Cox’s retainers will cover your legal fees through trial. He will begin preparing for trial on day one and will provide you with the cost of getting your case to trial on day one.
Call, email, or fill out the form, and we'll respond promptly to discuss your case and how we can assist you.
